A buckwheat pillow can last for many years with the proper care.

How to take care of your buckwheat pillow:

  • Protect your pillow from the wear of daily use with a pillowcase.
  • Spot wash your pillow with a damp cloth. Let the pillow dry out in a sunny spot.
  • Keep your pillow dry and well aired. Moisture leads to buckwheat hull degradation.
  • Rejuvenate your pillow by adding new buckwheat hulls.
  • To store buckwheat pillows, place in a clean pillowcase and keep in a dry, well ventilated area.

Entire buckwheat pillows cannot be put into the washing machine or dryer.

Soaking buckwheat hulls with water will ruin them, so buckwheat pillows should not be put directly into the washing machine. However, you can empty all the buckwheat hulls from your pillow, and wash the cotton pillow casing on cold and hang it to dry. The buckwheat hulls can be set in the sun to disinfect. Adjust Your Buckwheat Pillow

Stomach Sleeper

Create a flatter pillow by removing hulls to keep your spine aligned.

Back Sleeper

Try the pillow as is. If your head and neck are being pushed forward, remove some hulls. If your head is tilted backwards, add some hulls.

Side Sleeper

Try the pillow as is. For most side sleepers, the addition of some hulls is often needed. Add 1 cup at a time until your head and neck feel comfortably supported.

Sleep Better supported

Buckwheat hulls (or sobakawa) make an ideal pillow filling as they hold their shape extremely well and do not compress and flatten, so your neck is properly supported throughout the night and your body is kept properly aligned.

Sleep Cool

No one likes to wake up in the middle of the night to flip their pillow around due to a sweaty head. The 3d shape of buckwheat hulls allow for air circulation so you can sleep cool all night long.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC BUCKWHEAT HULLS

ComfySleep pillows are filled with Ecocert certified organically grown buckwheat hulls from Canada. They are sieved and cleaned with forced air to remove all fragments and dust. They are not roasted, fumigated or treated in any way so you can sleep easy knowing that no pesticides or harmful chemicals were used to grow or clean the hulls used in our pillows.

COMFYWEAVE certified ORGANIC COTTON TWILL CASING

The ComfySleep is crafted from uniquely designed ComfyWeave cotton that is grown in the USA and certified organic by the Texas Department of Agriculture. This 10 oz cotton twill fabric is woven to our exact specifications to meet our high standards. The finished cotton twill is a perfect harmony of breathability and thickness that is gentle to the touch yet durable enough to properly contain buckwheat hulls.

certified Organic Cotton Pillowcase

Encase your pillow in a custom fitted pillowcase for a crisp and clean look. The Envelope style pillowcase keeps your buckwheat pillow tucked in neatly, and helps to retain the shape of your buckwheat hull pillow better while you sleep. Breathe easy knowing that the fabric touching your skin is made from organic cotton. *Not pre-shrunk, will shrink slightly after washing and drying. Wash in cold and tumble dry on low. *Handmade in Canada to fit ComfyComfy pillows.

Neck pain is gone

I've been sleeping on the buckwheat pillow for 2 weeks now and have not experienced any neck pain since. Before I was waking up almost everyday with neck pain, at the base of my skull. It's not lofty or cloud like at all but it's been a game changer so it's worth it. Takes some getting used to! Some reviews warned against the sound of the hulls, and I'm sensitive to sounds, but I have not noticed and fell asleep right away. Highly recommend this pillow!

It's just great. Your product is excellent quality - I'm impressed with the fabric case and, for me, the amount of fill feels just right. Sleeping on a buckwheat pillow is everything they say it is: cool and comfortable with excellent alignment.

Meh - Not as cooling as expected

The pillow takes ALOT of getting used to, even for someone that's used to firm pillows. Initially, it was what I imagine trying to sleep on a rock hard sandbag would be like but after putting in the full extra 1lb of husks it improved, still rather hard if not fluffed/shaped. Although it doesn't quite hold in the heat like a foam pillow does, it's definitely not as cooling as I expected which is quite disappointing as I'm a hot sleeper even in the dead of winter with a fan on and this was the main reason I purchased the pillow.

Does not feel that cool and I found it uncomfortable for sleep

I bought this based on numerous Reddit recommendations that it would be very cool in feel. I did not find that to be the case at all. It was not warm per se but it was not noticeable cooler than any other style of pillow I have tried or own.

Secondly I find the pillow way too firm, even after removing some of the buckwheat shells. If you are a very still sleeper and remain in one position only, perhaps it would work for you. Personally I like to move around a bit, sometimes on my back, sometimes on my side, but this style of pilllow would not accomodate that.
